Re-Elect
Steven Scharf to Cupertino City Council
Let's Build A Better Cupertino for All
I hate asking for money. But unlike
other candidates, I am not supported by developers and corporate
interests, or their shills. In 2016 I collected 1/6th the amount
of money that the developer-owned candidates spent.
Additionally, separate from the funding to their candidates,
developers spent about six-times my own total campaign budget on
attack ads and mailers via independent expenditure committees.
In 2016 I depended on an army of resident-volunteers going
door-to-door, something that the developer’s candidates couldn’t
duplicate. With Covid-19, door-to-door campaigning is difficult.
I’ll need for more social-media advertising and mailers.
I am very frugal in spending, but there are necessary expense.
The Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters charges $2860 to
print a candidate’s ballot statement in the ballot booklet.
Single-color yard signs cost about $5 each. A thumb-drive with
voter lists costs $130. Direct mail pieces cost about $8000 to
reach every household with registered voters.
Any amount is appreciated. You can donate via the PayPal link or
I’ll come collect a check, or let you use contact free Apple
Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay.
